Passing through Lone Pine feels less like a pit stop and more like stepping onto the set of a 1950s Western. Which isn’t super far fetched as they filmed hundreds of classic Westerns in the hills behind this town. There's even a Western film museum right on Main Street.


Standing there with my camera, waiting for the traffic to clear out, you half expect a tumbleweed to roll across the street. The scene holds that nostalgic postcard quality, a timeless capture where you could be standing there today or in 1960 and everything would look the same.
